Bees, Honey, and Native Plants: Supporting Pollinators in Our Community

This presentation explores the fascinating world of honeybees—from their lifecycle and the basics of beekeeping to the remarkable benefits of honey. We’ll also take a closer look at the diverse native plants that nourish not only honeybees but the many species of native bees that play a critical role in healthy ecosystems. Learn how thoughtful planting choices can support pollinators and strengthen biodiversity right here in our community.

Dana Harkrider, founder of the Nyack Pollinator Pathway, is a Nyack-based beekeeper and native plant enthusiast, blending a career in consulting with a deep commitment to sustainable gardening and pollinator conservation.
